The Flood Risk Assessment and Reduction Community Guidebook was developed as part of an initiative led by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services (CMSWS) in collaboration with the DHS S&T Flood Apex Program. The Community Guidebook aims to lead other communities through obtaining and developing data, as well as demonstrate how that data can be used to assess risk and evaluate mitigation options within their community. It also discusses how communities can develop their own mitigation strategy, how to fund and implement that strategy, and how to monitor and communicate the strategy and results within their community.
