You’ve Got Ideas; We Have Funding. Lets Talk!

Release Date: January 9, 2017

S&T strengthens the nation’s homeland security by advancing scientific capabilities.  Our engineers, scientists, and subject matter experts work closely with practitioners to identify emerging challenges and develop solutions.

We can’t do it alone, though.  S&T partners with innovative organizations from the private sector, academic, and non-profit communities to conduct research and development (R&D) that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible.

One of the ways we support these efforts is through the Long-Range Broad Agency Announcement (LRBAA) funding vehicle.  The LRBAA is a standing invitation for pioneering R&D projects across a wide range of national security subjects.  We only provide a few details about what we’re looking for in the LRBAAs, which allows our partners to submit truly innovative, original research that expands the scope of what’s possible.  It’s essentially an open call for awesome ideas!

If you’re interested in applying for funding, I invite you to check out the LRBAA page and look through the current solicitations to see where your research may fit.  The LRBAA serves all of S&T’s divisions and programs, so several avenues are available at any given time.

For specific questions about the submission process, join us for a live Facebook Town Hall Thursday, January 26 from 1-2pm EST.  LRBAA program staff will be available to answer your questions and provide insight on previous program successes.  Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for more information, and feel free to contact the LRBAA Help Desk anytime at dhsbaa@reisystems.com.  We look forward to seeing the discussion unfold on the 26th!
