On October 21, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. EST, the Commercialization Accelerator Program (CAP) Manager, John Rein, will speak at the Cybersecurity Technology Showcase during CyberScoop’s Cyber Week 2020 to highlight CAP’s focus on the transfer of federally-funded technologies into the commercial market where they are available to homeland security end users.
Following the CAP introduction will be a demonstration of the CAP-selected Software Defined Networking Multiple Operating System Rotational Environment (SMORE). Joshua Lyle from the Argonne National Laboratory will describe and demonstrate SMORE to help participants better understand the technology and applications.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology invited the S&T Technology Transfer and Commercialization Program to participate in the Cybersecurity Technology Showcase during CyberScoop’s Cyber Week 2020 event to exchange information, share best practices, and discuss potential ways to revolutionize the protection against national cyber threats.

About CAP
The Commercialization Accelerator Program (CAP) helps with bridging the gap between research and the marketplace with a process designed to advance technology maturity and create partnerships among the R&D community, Homeland Security Enterprise, and the private sector community.
CAP is working with partner laboratories to identify innovative technologies at DOE National labs, DOD labs, FFRDCs and UARCs that are relevant to the Homeland Security Enterprise. Once selected, CAP provides funding for additional technology development, testing and validation of a more robust prototype, and commercialization assistance services to help advance the market readiness of the prototype. Doing so increases the likelihood of adoption by an industry partner that can proceed with making the product or service available in the market.
