Delivering new and innovative cybersecurity capabilities that mitigate known and emerging cyber-threats is essential to protecting the nation’s 16 critical infrastructure networks from cyberattacks.
That’s why, the Cyber Security Division (CSD), part of S&T’s Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency, is hosting the 2017 Cyber Security R&D Showcase and Technical Workshop—the federal government’s largest cybersecurity research and development (R&D) event—from July 11 through 13 at Washington, D.C.’s Mayflower Hotel.
The event is open to public and private sector cybersecurity professionals. Space is limited, so I encourage you to complete your registration now to ensure your attendance at this premier government cybersecurity R&D event.
CSD funds a range of R&D projects that are helping critical public and private networks operators improve their cybersecurity posture. Each year, CSD spotlights cutting-edge research projects to stakeholders and public and private sector partners at our annual showcase event. The event’s primary objective is to introduce CSD’s funded research to technology implementers including chief information security officers, pilot and testing partners, investors, angel funders, and other potential market-transition partners.
Featuring more than 115 technical presentations, this event represents a combined $250 million of federally funded R&D. Displaying more than 40 mature, transition-ready technologies, the showcase will feature projects from 15 cybersecurity research areas including mobile security, data privacy, cyber-physical system security, distributed denial of service defense, and next generation cyber infrastructure.
During the Showcase on July 11, 10 mature technologies and projects—developed by the division’s top performers—will be presented, and 60 researchers will be available to demonstrate their projects first hand. CSD’s researchers will present more than 100 cybersecurity technologies, techniques and tools during the Technical Workshop on July 12 and 13. And, if that is not enough, there will be interesting panel discussions and keynotes featuring prominent government and industry speakers.
New this year will be presentations by representatives of startup firms engaged through DHS S&T’s Silicon Valley Innovation Program and researchers funded by S&T’s international cybersecurity partners.
As the federal government’s preeminent cybersecurity R&D conference, the R&D Showcase and Technical Workshop presents attendees the opportunity to discover a broad range of CSD-funded R&D technologies and network with 1,000 cybersecurity peers. It truly is the must-attend cybersecurity R&D event of the year. On behalf of CSD Director Dr. Douglas Maughan and his team, I invite you to register now to attend this exceptional event.
