SAVER Project: Chain Saws for Firefighting and Rescue

Gasoline powered chainsaws are used for firefighting, rescue, and forcible entry by structural firefighters, wildland firefighters, and urban search and rescue teams. Responders use these tools to cut ventilation holes in structures, construct shoring systems, and to clear fire lines.

The Application Note, Focus Group Report, Market Survey Report, and Assessment Report on Gasoline Powered Chainsaws are limited distribution documents, and are available in the SAVER Community on First Responder Communities of Practice (FRCoP).

Find this project in the FEMA Authorized Equipment List and InterAgency Board Interactive Standardized Equipment List.
