Body

The National Urban Security Technology Laboratory (NUSTL) conducted an Operational Experimentation (OpEx) of RepKnight on July 28, 2015 at the New York City Emergency Management’s Emergency Operations Center in Brooklyn, New York. NUSTL hosted the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate’s (S&T) Urban Operational Experimentation (OpEx), which conducted experiments with RepKnight. This event included first responders from New York, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., and California.

RepKnight is an open-source data platform that performs real-time monitoring and analysis of social media using keywords, trends and sentiment. It is intended to bridge a technology gap in situational awareness by distilling specific knowledge concerning threats, hazards and conditions both passive and active in real-time.
