HSWERX, the Homeland Security Innovation Hub, is a unique platform designed to address DHS challenges and increase the effectiveness of DHS innovation and commercialization activities. HSWERX complements the department’s R&D activities by enabling the rapid discovery, engagement, and acceleration of innovative solutions for the safety and security of the homeland.
The Innovation Hub provides a mechanism to connect DHS stakeholders with subject matter experts from industry, academia, and national labs through one or more events tailored to a specific DHS problem set. The Hub is operated by DEFENSEWERX and managed by the Technology Transfer & Commercialization Branch.
Hub Mechanisms
Collaboration Events (CE)
Government, industry, academia, national labs, and non-traditional performers ideate on and refine a DHS need or requirement. Results may lead to future Assessment Events.
Assessment Events (AE)
HSWERX leverages its ecosystem to attract best-of-breed solutions through selected demonstrations and one-on-one discussions between solution providers and DHS end users.
Upcoming Events
Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) On-Board Detect and Avoid Technology Demo Assessment Event (AE): July 9 - 10
Five solution providers have been invited to participate in the AE event hosted by HSWERX, in partnership with T2C. During the AE, the selected participants will be allotted a one-on-one session with the DHS evaluation panel to pitch, demonstrate, and/or discuss their solutions.
