Urban OpEx 2022 CENTAUR Hybrid Network in a Box Technology Report

Body

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) and its National Urban Security Technology Laboratory (NUSTL) hosted Urban OpEx 2022, a weeklong Operational Experimentation (OpEx) where first responders evaluated new and emerging technology solutions in realistic, urban settings throughout the New York Metropolitan area.

Of the seven technologies evaluated is the CENTAUR Hybrid Network in a Box. Developed by TDCOMM, CENTAUR is a rapidly deployable “network in a box” cellular network platform designed to support first responders and emergency response personnel in deploying a mobile LTE network during operations where an LTE network is not available.
