Urban OpEx 2022 Wave Relay Mobile Ad Hoc Network Technology Report

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) and its National Urban Security Technology Laboratory (NUSTL) hosted Urban OpEx 2022, a weeklong Operational Experimentation (OpEx) where first responders evaluated new and emerging technology solutions in realistic, urban settings throughout the New York Metropolitan area.

Of the seven technologies evaluated is the Wave Relay® Mobile Ad Hoc Network. Developed by Persistent Systems, Wave Relay is a deployable communications network that enables users to remain in communication throughout real-time emergencies and their aftermath.
