TRX NEON Personnel Location Tracker Technology Demonstration

Body

The Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate's National Urban Security Technology Laboratory (NUSTL), in collaboration with Metro-North Commuter Railroad Company (MNR), conducted a semi-virtual technology demonstration of the TRX NEON® Personnel Location Tracker in Grand Central Terminal (GCT). The TRX NEON Personnel Tracker can provide location data that could complement data provided by mobile environmental sensors, enabling the accurate mapping of survey results to specific locations throughout GCT. NUSTL, in conjunction with MNR, facilitated a demonstration of the technology to determine its feasibility in supporting an emergency preparedness environmental survey.

NUSTL provides independent technology evaluations and assessments for first responders, thereby enabling informed acquisition and deployment decisions and helping to ensure that responders have the best technology available to use in homeland security missions.
